Rugby Semi-Finals

Through the lottery I managed to get tickets to the Rugby World Cup semi-finals game at Twickenham Stadium.   Twickenham isn't too far from our house and is quite a famous stadium in UK Rugby, referred to as the "home of rugby union".  The game was late afternoon on  a Saturday which made it very challenging to find a babysitter.  So I ended up taking K to the game while C & J drove out to Windsor to visit with friends.

The match was between South Africa Springboks and New Zealand All Blacks.  K and I deck ourselves out in black and took the bus down to the stadium.

The place was packed and there was a palpable energy in the place. Super exciting!

The game kicked off with fireworks, national anthems and of course, the Haka (the traditional dance performed by the New Zealand team).

It was a close match and at half-time K was ready to switch sides with the score 12-7 South Africa.

But we stuck with our team and in the end, New Zealand came from behind and won 20 -18. A very exciting game!

The following week, New Zealand went on to beat Australia in the final and retained the Rugby World Cup.  Go All Blacks!!
