Visit from Christine

Earlier this month, my friend Christine came for a visit.  Christine and I met nearly 20 yrs. ago at my first job in NYC.  We quickly became friends and for a couple of seasons shared Yankees season tickets.  When we lived in CA, Christine would visit at least once a year usually right around Sunset Festival time.

This year, Christine decided to vacation in Paris so she made a stop through London on her way home.  When she arrived, she had a Trader Joe's bag filled with all of our favorite U.S. goodies - Annie's Mac & Cheese, Zatarains Beans, Shake & Bake, Corned Beef Hash, Mustard and Fig Newtons.  Would you believe she lugged that all around Paris?  A true friend she is!!!

Anyway, we had a really fun weekend.  Unfortunately the weather was cold, rainy and yes, even snowy!  On Saturday morning we checked out two houses for sale.
And then we went for lunch at the newly opened Blue Plate, the restaurant associated with one of our favorite bakeries, Outsider Tart.  The decor was totally fun and funky and the food was delicious.
On Sunday we decided not to let the weather deter us and we ventured out to Hampton Court Palace.  We hadn't been there in over a year so I was excited to go back.  C on the first leg - the overground train out to Richmond:
Christine & K at the entrance.  It was super cold so K was showing off his purple glove - the only one we could find.
The kids running through the gardens just off the chapel.
On the bus ride home.  Seconds before Christine had two kids sacked out on top of her.
C - Thanks for the visit!  We definitely can't let two years go by again.
