Race Day Morning

Race day morning we woke up to rain but that wasn't deterring anyone and the crowds were out early.  We could have watched the race from our balcony but we wanted to get a bit closer to the action so planned to walk down the mountain a few hours before race time.
We decided to go for a last ride before things got too crazy although honestly it was all a bit crazy already and we found it hard to pedal through the crowds.  It didn't matter though.  There was a huge buzz of excitement in the air and it was just thrilling to be there.

I took a little video riding the last few hundred yards towards the stage finish (apologies for the shaky video).

It was such a 'wow' feeling being able to ride exactly where the professional riders would be a few hours later. At this point, we were getting super excited and were just crossing our fingers that the rain held off.
