The agents did a great job getting the house all spruced up to sell. The biggest changes were in the kitchen family room - the cabinets were painted white, the tile counter top was replaced with quartz, the linoleum and parkay floor was replaced with wood to match the hall & dining room floor and the fireplace was painted to blend in with the room. Many of the appliances in the kitchen were also replaced. Other renovations included adding a sky light in the entrance hall and opening the doorways into the living room and dining rooms to give a more open feel.

After just two open houses we received three offers, all over the asking price. Everyone said it was a good time to sell but J & I had no idea just how crazy things had gotten in the bay area. If all goes well we will be handing over keys to a lovely family who loves the trees on the property as much as we do.
While we have very mixed feelings about selling the house and not having a home base in America, it does give us some freedom to choose when and where we move back to the states. And I don't think we could ever have made this choice if we hadn't bought a house in London which we love.
