Lookout Discovery Centre

Saturday we visited the Lookout Discovery Centre in Bracknell.  Inside was a science museum with lots of interactive exhibits.  My first impression was that it all seemed a bit tired, but the exhibits were really well done and some very complex ideas were boiled down into simple to understand explanations and examples.  Shame on me for judging a book by it's cover.  In addition to the main room, there was a light & sound exhibit, a water play area and a construction play area.

And while the inside was fun, the kids enjoyed playing outside even more.  There was a large playground with swings, a trampoline and a castle to explore.
The playground backed up onto Bracknell Forest and kids were encourage to make wigwams out of sticks on the ground.  J supervised construction and the girls helped a bit, but K was definitely the master builder.
Before leaving we climbed to the top of the big tower for a birds eye view of the centre & forest.

Only a 40 minute drive from London but it felt like a world away.  I think we'll be coming back!
