Hard to believe we've been living in London for 3 years and had yet to tour Buckingham. The palace was quite magnificent and felt very warm and inviting. Unfortunately no pictures were allowed inside - so only outside photos.

The next day we took the bus out to Hampton Court Palace. We've been multiple times but we were happy to go again since it's one of our favorite places to visit. Steep in history and lots of different areas to explore.
One of our favorites spots is the kitchen with huge fire places where the meat was cooked on spits.

The kids practicing their dance moves - C especially loved how the cape twirled. Visitors are allowed to borrow the capes for touring around the palace. A nice touch.
We also spent some time running through the Chapel garden

As we were leaving, we spotted King Henry the VII strolling through the grounds. The kids were brave enough to ask him for a photo (no other visitors were approaching him - they were just getting out of the way as you would imagine real subjects would have done). While the King said 'yes', he did ask K to remove his hat since he was in the presence of the King and C gave a curtsy.
