This is 8!
All remnants of K's baby face and toddler tummy are gone. However, he still has the best smile, loves to laugh and will hug and cuddle forever. He oozes with energy and is on the go all the time; the moment we finish a bike ride he's asking to go to the park to throw the ball around. After he swims for an hour on Friday, he's off to a soccer game. Sports is his number one love - football, rugby, cricket, skiing, swimming, baseball and now golf. You name it, he plays it (or wants to). He continues to be a whiz at math and is still enamored with chess (and pretty much beats me every time we play). Poo and fart jokes rule. Being 'cool' is now a thing. Cursing is too but we're trying to curb that habit. "What the..." is a favorite phrase (another habit we're trying to rid him of). It's nearly impossible to get him to read a chapter book but give him a reference book on almost any topic and he'll read for hours. His favorite birthday present this year was the 2018 Guinness Book of World Records. He's very musical, loves listening to music (Ed Sheeran is current fave) and has started coming up with his own dance routines. He also loves to cook and makes a mean omelet. This term he's taking a "food technology" class that he's super excited about it. It warms my heart that K describes himself as "fun, friendly and happy". I couldn't love this kid any more.
