Introducing our newest (and furriest) member of the family - Roxie! On February 4 our chart was finished and it was finally Puppy Comes Home day.

Given that the breeder lived three hours away, J & C drove out to Hereford the night before in order to pick up the puppy in the morning. They spent about an hour with the breeder going through all the feeding and care instructions and then they were on their way home. J sent me this photo after they were loaded up. Apparently puppy slept for most of the ride home.

Once home the puppy settled in very quickly. Chasing after a ball was a favorite game.
She wasn't too fussed about laying on a blanket or doggie bed and when she was tired she found warm spots on the floor to sleep on (helps to have a heated floor).

We hadn't settled on a name yet although we did have a final list of Charlie, Roxie and Tess and decided we'd wait to bring her home to see what felt right. Once home, the name debate raged for a few more hours. J and I were most keen on Charlie although if it was up to us we probably would have name her "Chewie", short for Chewbacca, since she really does look like a wookie. She also looks like teddy bear, an ewok and fozzie bear from the muppets.

K broke the name impasse. Rather than engaging in any discussion or debate, he just walked into the room and started calling her "Roxie". That was the name C wanted so she followed his lead. At that point, J and I really didn't have much choice to go with it. It's cute. She's cute. We're in love and so happy that she's ours.
