Party Season

This summer has been quite busy, in part thanks to all of C's friends and parents throwing super-fun and creative birthday parties. It started in May with R's birthday and is ending in August with G's. I didn't take photos at all the parties, but here are some highlights from the ones where I did (or friends did).

R's bday - C wanted nothing to do with the petting zoo in the backyard but she did love playing in the sand. Unfortunately she didn't quite grasp the fact that the sand should stay IN the sandbox. In case you're wondering, that's Miss R the birthday girl.

A's bday - The kids loved chasing and kicking the balls all over the park, grabbing the balloons and trying to figure out how to work a hula-hoop (even the parents had trouble with that one)!

A's bday - the bouncy house was a huge hit with all the kids as was the slide, motorized jeep and sand & water table. It got a little scary when one of the grownups almost collapsed the house, but luckily everyone was fine. C woke up the next morning asking for the bouncy house. She also scored some fun green & pink sunglasses that she's been wearing all summer.

N's Bday - N had a bug-themed party and there was lots of fun stuff to do in the backyard but C was most interested in playing inside with N's kitchen & pushing the shopping cart around.

S's bday - C had lots of fun exploring the park with her BFF A. It was also the first time she played with playdoh. S's parents love to cook and the hamburgers from the grill were quite possibly the best ever.

E's bday - E has a fabulous backyard with a swingset & slide, tent & tunnel and sand & water table. At all times there was a line to climb the slide or take a ride on the swing. All the kids received mini-world cup soccer balls. C got to pick her own ball - Vamos, vamos Argentina!

J's bday - J is a friend from preschool. He's really into trains so his parents had all the kids meet at the Caltrain station. They took a ride on the "big" train a couple of stops north, got off for a trip to the ice cream store, then hopped back on for a ride home. The kids also received wooden train whistles. Such a clever, experiential party idea. Thanks to N for snapping the photos.

Today was G's birthday but unfortunately he got sick so his party was canceled.

And so ends our 2nd Birthday season. Next up, K's 1st Birthday!
