Last weekend J needed a day alone to organize/file so I took the kids to the London Transport Museum. It's been on my list for a while now but we just haven't found a good time to visit. First, a walk to the train station - love the yellow leaves.
We took the train to Covent Garden. The area was already decorated for the holidays.
It was very festive. There were singers, performers and even reindeer!!
Santa's sleigh was there as well.
Finally, we made it to the Transport Museum
The museum was full of life size coaches, trains, and buses, many of which you could climb aboard. The kids really enjoyed it.
The kids driving the bus.
Near the cafe was an area with wooden trains & buses that the kids could climb in and out of. There was also a train table which K played at for a looooong time.
After the museum we stopped for frozen yogurt at Snog. Very funky place with rainbow lights on the ceiling.
Unfortunately the trip home was a bit of a trek. The tube station was packed to the brim - there were so many people they weren't letting anyone else through the turnstiles. The kids were in no mood to wait patiently so we walked north to catch the bus. The kids were tired and dragging and there were more than a few tears. But finally we made it. And we were rewarded with front-row seats up top with a great view of the Holiday lights down Oxford St.

It was a fun day out with the kids and seeing all the Holiday decorations and lights is definitely starting to put me in the Christmas mood.
