Father Christmas 2014

We made our annual visit to Harrod's to see Father Christmas.  This year they changed things up a bit and you had to buy tickets to Afternoon Tea along with a visit to Father Christmas.  At first I was a little put out by a clear money making scheme, but in the end, it was a really lovely outing and made the visit to Father Christmas even more special.

While waiting in line we walked through a snowy wonderland. There was a snowball throwing game that the kids could play with and then a big sleigh where you could take family photos.  It definitely made the line-waiting time go faster.

Father Christmas was in his own private room that was designed to  look like the inside of a cabin.  K & C seemed pretty comfortable with him, and when he asked C what she wanted for christmas she pulled out her purple book where she had written her list across multiple pages!  And she didn't stop until she read off every single gift request.  When Father Christmas asked K what he wanted he got shy and said "I don't know".  Luckily C had taken notes in her book on what K wanted so she was able to help fill the gap.  C told Father Christmas she would leave him milk....he said it upset his stomach and a class of scotch would be better.  C was confused but J was all over that.

It was nice that the kids got to spend a good amount of time talking to Father Christmas rather than feeling rushed or just there for the photo opp (since that's pretty much the reason I was there!).

And here it is - our 2014 photo with Father Christmas.

Plus prior years since it's always fun to see the comparisons.

After tea we walked through the Food Hall at Harrods.  What an amazing place!

Then we walked around outside and look at the window displays.
