Sleepover and London Aquarium

We survived C's first sleepover - Yay!

C's best friend Chiara stayed over Saturday night.  Other than both wanting to sleep in the top bunk, the nighttime routine went pretty smooth and the girls fell asleep in no time.  There was a midnight wake up where they *thought* they would just turn on the light and play until they were tired again.  I quickly set them straight.

After breakfast in the morning the kids played lots and lots of board games.  Then they decided to build a city with the magnatiles.

And play "princess spies".

There was only one moment where they didn't want to be friends anymore but luckily it passed quickly.

When Chiara's mom and brother came to pick her up we all set out for an afternoon at the London Aquarium.  I hadn't been there in a couple of years so it was nice to go back.  Getting off the train at Westminster  is always a treat - being greeted by Big Ben as soon as you emerge from the station.

It's a really lovely aquarium - not the prettiest inside but well laid out so that you can see the fish in the big tanks multiple times and on different levels.

Everyone's favorite was watching the big sea turtle eat a fish.

It was pretty late by the time we were finished and everyone was tired and hungry so we walked along the Southbank, past the London Eye, to Giraffe restaurant.  Giraffe is a kid favorite primarily because of the plastic giraffes and balloons that they give out.  After dinner we walked across the Golden Jubilee Bridge to the underground and had lots of sleepy kids (and moms) on the train home.
