Every year we seem to visiting Father Christmas earlier and earlier. Harrod's booking priority is by amount spent throughout the year and since we pretty much only visit once a year (for Father Christmas) our priority is pretty low. All the weekend spots were booked so we decided on a Thursday evening, the only day that the kids don't have after school activities. The plus side of going so early in the season and at night is that the grotto is much less crowded.
To get in to the grotto, the kids had to crawl through a secret door in the wall.

Once inside, the grotto was a winter wonderland.

Santa's elves were stationed throughout the Grotto, playing games, snapping photos and just generally raising the excitement bar.

Finally, it was our turn to see Father Christmas. Both kids brought their Christmas lists which they read out loud. C's list - complete with sparkles:

K's list - front and back

iPhone and iPad featured prominently on both lists but C & K know that Father Christmas consults with Mom & Dad on presents so it was highly unlikely that they would find an "i" device under the tree. While K had lots of other items on his list, they were mostly from watching advertisements and there was not one thing that he really wanted other than an iPad. C on the other hand wanted an iPad and a puppy.
After a nice chat with Father Christmas we took our annual photos.

Afterwards we went for dinner at the nearby Disney Cafe in Harrods and then walked around the market downstairs, salivating at all the yummy goodies.
