Another year around the sun for our now 11 year old. Double ones = double the fun.
This has been a challenging year, especially for someone as sporty as K, having to limit himself to just one sport (soccer) and even that one has had starts and stops along the way with fields closing periodically given Covid-19 spikes. Playing Fortnite has been is main outlet for staying connected with friends and while the screen time is definitely 'too much' given the circumstances we have acquiesced.
Birthday presents and balloons for our birthday boy.
Not surprising, a favorite gift from Uncle Matt.
For his birthday dinner, K asked for weinerschnitzel, his favorite meal for the last 6 years or so. We didn't have any pork, but chicken schnitzel was a perfectly fine substitute in K's mind.
K seems to pick a new 'cake' every year for his birthday. Last year was a pumpkin pie. This year was a cheesecake from the famous Juniors - from NY by way of Costco (good find from J!)
Every year I've been taking a photo with K and his stocking. This year marks 12 years of stocking photos which made for a fun grid. He's lost a lot of teeth along the way and his baby belly but he still hasn't lost his 'melt-my-heart' smile.
And as per tradition, I interviewed K about his favorite things. Most haven't changed too much over the year:
