Slang

"Yes" has never been part of C's vocabulary. But last Monday she came home from school saying "yeah". Not yes, but yeah.

Prior to Monday the conversation would go like this:
Us: "C do you want chicken for dinner"
C: "Chicken"
Us: "Is that a yes?"
C: "Chicken"
So then we'd give her chicken. Usually yes was her intention, but not always.

Now the conversation goes:
Us: "C do you want chicken for dinner"
C: "Yeah"
Us: "Say 'yes' please"

It's great because she's finally communicating in a way that we can understand and awful at the same time since it's slang. Two steps forward. One step back.
