One of the hardest things about moving is finding all your new go-to places. Where do I go to...buy cards, grab a quick bite, get my teeth cleaned etc. Finding a new hairdresser is a key one on that list. For myself, I've had a few recommendations from colleagues but I'm still too much of a chicken to try them out. I've been going to the same hairdresser in SF for over 10 yrs! It's hard to feel comfortable moving on from that.
For the kids I got a recommendation from my neighbor so this afternoon C, K and I were off. The 'salon' was a single chair in the back of an upscale children's toy/clothing store. The setup didn't instill the greatest confidence, but the stylist seemed to know what she was doing. There was a neat aquarium in the wall for the kids to watch while getting their haircut. Both C and K did a great job staying still and listening to instructions.
And both of their cuts look totally cute!
