Last night J & I saw a spectacular performance at The Globe theater. It was a modern take on Much Ado about Nothing Rather than Italy, the show was set in Mexico which allowed for interesting set designs using a train car backdrop and lots of colorful, loud and energetic moments.

We had fabulous seats - front row center in the middle gallery - which was particularly enjoyable when the actors were out and about in the crowd and using the small stage built in the middle of the audience. One actress look incredibly familiar but I just couldn't place her....until today when I read that she's the real-life sister of Lady Mary from Downton Abbey.
Much Ado about Nothing is quite a funny production so there was lots of laughs and hooting & hollering from the crowed. At one point, someone from the audience was asked to hold a paper prop that kept blowing away. I love the Globe performances particularly when there is a lot of audience engagement and banter.

It was a beautiful evening in London and so L O V E ly being at the Globe! I'm really enjoying this season of modern takes on Shakespeare classics.
