Bumps and Bruises

It seems every day K manages to add another bump or bruise to his collection. He's currently sporting cuts on his cheek and chin plus a swollen lip.
The kid is S.T.R.O.N.G (with a capital "S"), quite fearless and wants to do everything his sister does and then some. Want to get your heart to skip a jump...walk in on your 16 mos. old standing on the coffee table ready to jump. Or how about when we caught him doing a super man move, legs in the air, on top of our media cabinet. He just couldn't resist the blinking red button on the answering machine. Or climbing on to the desk to check things out (yes, I realize I went for the camera before the kid. Bad mommy.)
And the best trick so far...last week we found him copying C by moving a chair to the sink so that he could climb up on his own to wash his hands. This we thought was brilliant until he used that same trick and moved the chair RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE STOVE to reach some crackers which were on the island. Needless to say, the front stove burners no longer have knobs on them. We've had to take baby proofing to a whole other level with this one.

C not only helps the bruise-count by being a role model (for things that you should wait until your 3 to try, K), but she also manages to help the old fashioned way.
Cue to background noise - a hysterical K. Mom bolts into the room
Mom to C: "what happened"
C: "K hit his chin"
M: "Did he fall off the table"
C: "Yes"
M: "Did you kick him off the table"
C: "Yes"

Maybe that deserves a sisterly hug...
... after the fact of course.
