Mother's Day Photo Fun

My friend Beth sent a note this morning wishing me a Happy Mother's Day and attached this picture of her lilacs in bloom. We share a special bond with lilacs - our mom's love them and so do we! I'm also loving my Mother's Day gift to myself of Photoshop Elements. My first project was to make a little collage from K's 16 mos. pictures. But then I watched a video to learn about layering. Results above. I turned the original color photo into a black & white layer and then 'erased' the top layer so that the colored lilacs came through. Oh, and then I added some text.

I think PSE is going to be such a fun toy! I just need to figure out everything it can do and how to make it all work.
