While J was home finishing our Mother's Day smoke yesterday, I took the kids to the Oakland Zoo. By request, the first thing we did was ride on the carousel. Luckily I was able to spot both kids by standing between them. But unfortunately K was on the verge of tears the whole time. He's usually so fearless but for some reason he hasn't really taken to the carousel. Maybe he thinks the animals are chasing him?
After the carousel, C went on a few rides by herself. This was the first time she rode the airplane.
There is a control stick in the cockpit that if the kids pull on it hard enough makes the airplane fly higher (pretty cool!). C did want to go higher but kept pulling the stick back and forth rather than keeping it close. As a result, her plane didn't get much lift off. But she still had fun.
Then she went on the cars and like last time, picked the pink corvette. Looking stylish C!

After the rides we finally entered the Zoo and headed straight for the Tigers and the Lions. On our last visit to the SF Zoo we somehow missed the Lions and the Tiger was asleep so yesterday C was on a mission to see them both in action.
All in all, it was a fun way to spend a few hours and aside from K putting peanut butter in his shoes, both kids behaved wonderfully.
