London Aquarium

Grandma and Grandpa are visiting and the day called for rain so we decided to take a trip to the London Aquarium. Here is C and Grandpa waiting for the train.
The Aquarium is actually really close the apartment we lived in when we first arrived...just a walk across Westminster Bridge, situated right next to the London Eye. Since it was the week between Christmas and New Year the area was packed with tourists but we managed to make our way through.
The Aquarium was not fancy by any means but it was perfect for the kids. It was mostly just a series of small and large tanks that you could view from different angles and different floors. Most of the tanks had glass far enough down so that the kids could see the fish by either standing or sitting next to the tanks. Both kids were completely entranced and watched the fish for hours.
A lionfish - so ugly and pretty at the same time.
K was especially enamored by the rays. I love the fact that they look like they're smiling.
We stayed for a couple of hours and by then everyone was hungry and tired so we decided to skip a whole floor. But Grandma and I got lost so we ended up zipping through the missed floor anyway which gave us the chance to see the Antartica area and the aquariums new collection of penguins.

It was raining by the time we left so we walked to Southbank, grabbed some lunch and then took the train back home. Everyone was pooped but happy to have spent the morning with the fish.
