A Star is Born

C's school is putting on a nativity play called "We Three Kings". Each of the kids were given a part - C is a star- and a few lines to say. C has been diligently practicing hers every night.

We also received a note home asking the parents to make a costume. You would not believe how long it took J and I to figure out how exactly to make the bottom half of the star - what angle? what length?. You would think we were solving the hardest math problem in the world. If only we had a protractor!

When we were done, J started stressing that C's star costume was a bit too abstract (since the top point was her red/white headband) and that her costume would be "too homemade" compared to everyone else's. I liked the idea of C helping to make her costume, but then I started stressing about it too. But since I was leaving the next day, there was no other option really. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Unfortunately I will be in CA for work and will be missing the play. I'm so sad about it. If I had known the play date ahead of time, I never would have missed it. Luckily the school is planning to tape the show and give out DVD's so I'll be able to watch it...hundreds of times I imagine.
