Autumn Fairies

Once we had gathered the last of our supplies from Kew Gardens, it was time to make our Autumn Fairies which I had seen on a favorite blog, The Magic Onions.

We spread out our abundance of supplies and each picked out a pinecone for the body, some autumn colored wool hair, an acorn top for a hat and leaves for wings.

C decided she didn't want a hat but wanted to braid her fairy's hair instead (or put a plait in her hair as they say in england).

Once the fairies were finished we tied some string to them.

Of course, I couldn't let the kids have all the fun and so I made one too.

The kids proceeded to put on a fairy play and then when it was time for bed they hung the fairies in their bedroom.  The next night the kids asked to make more fairies...so we did.
