Copenhagen: Day 4

Our flight back to London wasn't until the afternoon so we decided to spend the morning at the newly opened Copenhagen Aquarium - Den Bla Planet - the largest Aquarium in Northern Europe.  It was a 20 min. metro ride east and then a short 10 min. walk. The Aquarium is situated on on the Oresund strait which separates Denmark from Sweden so it was a beautiful setting and the building architecture was quite striking.

The inside was nicely layed out with with glass aquariums lining the walls so you felt like you were underwater the whole time.

At the end of the building was a large stadium and multi-story glass window where you could watch  the large sharks and fish swimming around. There was also a rainforest area with small ponds as well as steps leading downstairs where you could see what was lurking in the ponds.  Piranha's!

We ate lunch at the cafe which overlooked the water.  It was a beautiful setting and for cafeteria food, it was pretty impressive.

Yay for Denmark.  We certainly had a lovely time!
