Blood was gushing. A mom at the park called an ambulance but after 45 min. and no sign of it J decided he would just take a taxi to A&E (aka the hospital emergency room) in Westminster. K was really upset at first but once we got him home, cleaned him up a bit and gave him some food he felt a little better. J made him sit in a chair in our foyer though so that he wouldn't traipse blood through the house. C felt sorry for K so she reach a few books to him while he was waiting.
The doctor at A&E cleaned the wound and then glued it together. In the UK, doctors prefer not to give kids anethesia or stitches. J's take on the philosophy is that holding a kid down while they scream is barbaric.
Two hours later it was all done. J & K went for late dinner at Pre a Manger - Tuna & Cucumber sandwich, K's favorite.

The first 24 hrs. was most important to let the glue work it's magic and minimize scarring so K couldn't go to soccer practice or even go outside since it was raining and the glue is water soluble. I guess it could have been worse. This is the second forehead gash and trip to A&E for K since we moved to the UK (not to mention his teeth smashing incident). Let's hope it's the last.
