Not far into our walk we stopped to admire the fountains in the Piazza Novena. It was relatively early so the crowds weren't in full-force yet.

Our one and only family photo from our trip:
Along the way we stopped at Il Fornaio bakery for some cookies and biscotti. The window display is mouth watering. Pistacchio seems to be a very popular ingredient in Italian sweets and how about the size of that salami behind K's head?!?!?

Next stop was the daily market at Campo di Fiori. We browsed around the stalls and then C decided she wanted to buy some meat from one of the butchers. The meat had a very strong smell and taste but C didn't seem to mind and ate it all up.

Continuing on we strolled through the Jewish district and then stumbled upon more ruins.

When we finally got to 'the mouth' there was a huge line and we realized it was little more than a tourist trap. The kids were not thrilled to wait on the line so when offered them gelato instead they were totally game to walk back to the hotel without trying their luck with the mouth.

We walked back to the hotel along the river and then made our final stop at Della Palma for gelato.

All in all, a lovely trip to Rome and definitely a city we would consider visiting again (but definitely not in the summer). Ciao Rome!
