On Sunday, Mom & C hit the farmer's market. C was happy to help carry the bags but when they got a bit heavy, mom traded her the bags for an ear of corn. She carried that ear all through the market and would not let go of it when we got in the car. As soon as we were home she demanded to eat it. Farm to table my friends.

Our town has a 4th of July parade and festival that we were planning to attend but unfortunately it hit right smack in the middle of naps. Oh well. Maybe next year. We did get a nice picture of Mom & C dressed in patriotic colors though!

For the extra holiday day we decided to take a drive to the coast. We've been thinking about possibly vacationing near Santa Cruz so we wanted to check the town out. We had an early lunch at Gayle's Bakery in Capitola which is quite popular and good. C chowed down a muffelatta sandwich. Her palette never ceases to amaze me!
It was a bit foggy on the coast in the morning but it started clearing up when we got to Swanton's Berry Farm. This was C's first berry picking experience and she loved it.
Here she is quite proud of her selection!
We managed to get out of the fields before she actually thought to herself, "Hey wait, these are strawberries. I love strawberries. And I am carrying a whole carton of them. Why am I not eating them?" Well, the rest is history. They were juicy & delicious.
Sounds like an awesome weekend. Caroline's appetite never ceases to amaze me too! A muffellatta? She has quite a palette! I love it.
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask you how to kept her from eating them before they were washed! What is muffelatta??
