Just One More

C's favorite phrase these days is "one more". One more straw (berry), one more time and her favorite, one more book. This phrase is of course accompanied with a pointer finger straight up in the air.

At night, we read 3 books before bed. After each one C says "one more book". When we finish book #3 there are tears and cries of "one more book, one more book, one more book". It's quite sad and I'm so torn because I love that she enjoys reading so much. But most nights J & I hold firm at three books or else we'd never get out of there.

I can't wait until my dad visits to see how many books C gets him to read in a row before he calls it quits? My guess is 7. Any other guesses?

  1. Caleb does the same thing! Sometimes I cave in and do one more book. Kudos to you for sticking to your guns. I've thought about taking books out of his room but in the morning it works in my favor because a lot of the time when I walk in the room in the morning I find him with a book in his lap and others strewn across the room and bed.

I don't know your dad but since he's a grandpa... my guess would be the same and maybe re-reading too.

  2. We say 'one more and no more' (and mean it) and so far at least that seems to be working!
