78 Boxes

You probably thought we moved already, right? Well, we did...to London. But this past week we moved out our temporary apartment into our permanent rental. And our stuff arrived from California which threw our world into a whole new state of chaos.

The movers brought all of our furniture and boxes inside and then had instructions to unpack as much as they could on to flat surfaces, from which we could put it away in drawers, cabinets etc. I'm sad to say that when they left there were still 78 boxes that hadn't been opened!??! Before they actually arrived I thought we'd be unpacked fully in a couple of weeks. Now I question if we'll be unpacked fully in a couple of months.

K is unfazed and is having fun playing amongst the boxes.

He was also very excited when his car was unpacked.

We thought we were so smart not bringing any furniture from CA except our beds. Until we realized that we had nothing to sit on. So for a couple of days we used boxes for our table and chairs.

Amidst the chaos we had our first visitor, my brother Brian who was in town for business. He took the train out to see us. And brought us housewarming flowers!

J's mom arrived on Friday to help watch the kids, unpack and figure out what we need where. She's experienced in international moves so we thought she'd be the perfect person. Plus we love having her here. Unfortunately she also has to endure the box furniture but at least the blow up mattress provides some additional seating.
