Yesterday we were handed the keys to our new (old) house (rental).

Overall the house is a similiar size to our one in California but the layout is much different. The big selling point was the updated kitchen and combined kitchen/family room. Easy to cook and watch the kids at the same time. There is also a nice outdoor area complete with lavender bushes (I guess they knew I was coming!).
The kids had their first meal in the new house - pizza, babybells and cutie oranges.
There is also a nice front room w/a non-working fireplace which is where we will likely put the TV.
On the 2nd floor (or the 1st floor as it's referred to here) there are 3 bedrooms (one for K, one for J&I and one to use as an office), a WC and a bathroom.

Here is C giving a tour of her new room. It's the biggest bedroom and even has a private bathroom, so it's technically considered the Master bedroom. But since it's on the 3rd floor and the ceiling is low, J and I thought it would be better for C.
Since there are so many stairs in the place, we've been teaching K how to safely go down. Luckily it didn't take him long to get the hang of it.

Our shipment of goods from the states is still waiting to clear customs so we can't stay yet, but it was a good opportunity for us to see the place empty, take measurements and start figuring out what we needed to buy even after our stuff arrives. Unfortunately that list is mighty long. A couple of bar stools, a couch and a grill seem to be migrating to the top of the list.
It looks amazing!! The kitchen is great. I am glad you guys are going to have a lot of space. Can't wait to visit! :)
