There is a Royal Horticultural Society garden located about 30 miles southwest of us in Wisley. Each year in February their Glass House is full of butterflies. This was the last weekend to see the butterflies so we rented a car, braved the roads and took the drive out to meet up with our friends KK, MM and C.
The Glass House behind C:
J & K entering the exhibit:
The kids inside searching for butterflies:
This guy stopped to drink some water off the floor:
And this one decided to stop for lunch:
It was quite hot inside and every few minutes mist would spray down. C was pretty unhappy about the whole situation - she would get startled each time the mist went on or when a butterfly flew past.

She was much happier after we left the exhibit:
Next to the glass house was an outdoor learning center for kids that contained a small pond, vegetable beds and composting in action.
and then stay for lunch. The weather was glorious so we were able to eat outside under the sun.

This weekend is definitely making us think more seriously about buying a car. It's been fun to get out of town a bit and explore the surrounding area. At a minimum, I think we'll sign up for some driving lessons.
