Puppets & Warwick Castle

There is an area of London called "Little Venice" with boats lined up along the river.  One of the boats is actually a puppet theater which we brought the kids to for a performance of "The Tortoise and the Hare and other Aesop fables".  The theater was literally on the boat, with a stage in front and a small set of bleachers as seats.  To dim the lights, the portal windows were closed.  The show was very well done and the kids were entranced.
After the show we walked to the nearby Warwick Castle pub for an early dinner.
This is my new favorite pub.  It has a very casual, welcoming feel - even for families.  There are different rooms to explore with lots of nooks and crannies and period details.  Plus there are racks of games and books to enjoy while you're there.  The kids chose dominoes.  Love this picture - english pub-goers in training.
I also really appreciated the menu which offered very traditional pub fare including burgers and fish & chips as opposed to the gastropub menu that so many establishments seem to have these days.  As an added bonus, the burger was topped with a dill pickle and a slice of english bacon.
We had a nice dinner and the kids ate well, but it was our cue to go when the pint was nearly gone and the domino made it's way in.  Serious party foul!
