6 Months and 2 Years Old

A side benefit of C & K being almost exactly 18 mos. apart are joint doctor's visits - K for his 6 mos. and C for her 2 year. Last week we took them both in and Dr. G was quick to remark on the fact that we "make big kids" (umm, yeah, we know!). K is in the 87th percentile for height and weight and already weighs over 19 pounds. C moved up to the 97th!!! percentile, 33 pounds & 37 inches tall. Both kids have healthy bellies on them so we thought we might have to cut back a bit on the food intake, but since their height and weight are in proportion, Dr. G said everything is fine.

K continues to be our snot-nosed boy but it doesn't seem to bother his disposition any and clearly he's 'thriving'. He is sitting all by himself these days (although we still put pillows behind him as a safety precaution). He is also starting to hold his bottle with his own two hands to feed himself. There have been a few sightings of him up on all fours so we're definitely on 'crawl watch'.

C is speaking more and more - some favorite new phrases she picked up from mom & dad include "holy camoly" (best said at poo diaper changing moments) and "very good" with a japanese accent (can you guess which parent this is from?). She is catching a ball with two hands (thanks grandpa corky for the lesson!) and loves going to the park to play on the swings and go down the slide. Aside from playing with her kitchen and her tent when she's indoors, she likes to jump around the house and run in circles to make herself dizzy. And outside, the "aqua table" is a huge hit.

She is also a GREAT big sister - she gives K random hugs and kisses, brings him toys, wipes his mouth when he drools & spits up (or she'll point and say "uh oh" to alert mom & dad) and is even starting to help feed him a bottle. K adores her and gets a wide grin on his face every time she is near and especially when she interacts with him. They are unbearably cute together.
