One Year Old

And in the blink of an eye, K turns one. It's hard to believe that a year ago we were in SF staring at our early Christmas present with wonder and amazement.

Now we stare at our eating, smiling, walking toddler with wonder and amazement! Well actually we do much less staring and much more chasing.

What an incredible (did I mention fast?) year it's been. Some favorite milestones:

1 1/2 mos. - smiles

4 mos. - rollover

5 mos. - sitting
6 mos. - eating

6 1/2 mos. - crawling

7 mos. - sitting up

8 mos. - teeth

10 1/2 mos. - walking

K continues to be a total sweetheart. He has an easy, go-with-the-flow disposition and loves to hug & cuddle (which of course makes mommy & daddy just melt). Even though all the sleep training books would frown upon this, sometimes we let him fall asleep on us just so that we can enjoy all his cuteness up close.

His walking is getting much better and he can cross almost any room on two feet. Today we even caught him go from a sitting to a standing position without help from a wall or chair. And he's finally starting to understand what this eating thing is all about. He's graduated from puffs to cheeries and even had some yummy brie the other day. By far, turkey and corn are his favorite dinners and when it comes to fruit and oatmeal breakfast he's a bottomless pit. He now has 4 teeth, two on top and two on bottom.

We go to the doctor next week so we don't have all his stats but it's safe to say that he's a 'big boy' whom we love from the top of his curly (brown, blond?) head to the bottom of his toes.
