Exploring London - Day 1

Shortly after we arrived at the apartment we all went down for naps. But we soon realized that if we didn't get up and out, we would have a hard time adjusting to the time shift. So out we went to explore the neighborhood and by request, find a park.

We walked a few blocks to the main road, looked to our right and saw the London eye and Westminster Abbey. We walked a block more and saw Big Ben towering above the buildings. We continued on our path (because we were in search of a Park after all) and entered St. James's Park famous for its Pelicans. I'm not sure if we saw any Pelicans but K was fascinated by the geese.
At the west end of the Park there was a kids playground that definitely got a thumbs up.
Pretty soon after we reached the playground, the skies started threatening so we decided it was time to head back. But not before we walked passed Buckingham Palace to show the kids where the Queen lives.
We obviously have a lot more exploring to do but we felt very accomplished on our first day and are tickled that we are living in such a central location, even if it is only temporary.
