Well, I'm 40. There were a few tears in the morning, but they may have been caused in part by the sweet singing of Josh and C (and grunting of K) during my wake-up serenade of "Happy Birthday." All in all it was a lovely day...
First, breakfast a Melissa's. A rustic spot with good, hearty breakfast fare. And very kid friendly.
Then a trip to Cascade Pond with the family, including Grandma and Grandpa. It's an understatement to say the water was C.O.L.D. although the kids didn't seem to mind one bit. K fell in a few times and came up laughing even though the rest of his body was shivering. We didn't stay in the water long but had fun running around on shore.
Not a bad view on the drive home...
And look who we ran across on the way.
When we arrived back at the hotel there was a beautiful bouquet from J and the kids waiting for me with two of my favorite flowers - gerbera daisies and hydrangea's.
Next up, spa! AAAaaah
And then off to a family dinner at the Fairmont.
Champagne please!
