28 Aug (writing the date like a local now) marked our 1 year anniversary living in London. Overall, we're really happy with the move although it definitely took us longer to get settled in than we had expected. The town we live in is very family-friendly and our house location rocks; a lovely pub and a playground just a couple of blocks away, lots of transportation options and just a short walk to the high street. C blossomed at school this year so we are extremely pleased and we're excited for her to start at her new school next week. We've traveled a bit but we're hoping to travel even more this coming year.
I asked J a few questions to mark the occasion. I answered them as well.
Favorite London attraction: J - Tower of London. S - Hampton Court Palace.
Pleasant Surprise: J-Bacon. S- I have to agree. It's awesome.

Best trip: J - Spain (long), Paris (short). I'm with J. C answered this one as well. Her reply: New Jersey.
A thing or two we could learn from the Brits: J - not letting rabid partisan politics get in the way of national goals. And National Healthcare. S - I'm not as convinced about National Healthcare. I haven't been particularly impressed with the healthcare professionals we've seen and I'm not sure how comfortable I would be living here if work didn't provide an option for private healthcare. However, it is nice walking in and out of the doctors office without having to fill out any paperwork. My answer: 6 weeks vacation!
One thing you'd change if you could: J - own not rent. S - more friends and owning a car for weekend getaways.
Would miss most if left tomorrow: J-excellent public transportation and not owning a car. S - My pick would be public transportation.
And bacon.
