Christmas 2013

This was a pretty low key Christmas for us but one that we enjoyed immensely being in our new home.  With the move, the tree went up just a few days before Christmas and some of the decorations didn't even come out of boxes.  And on Christmas Eve I realized that we hadn't baked any cookies so I promptly spent the day baking a few dozen of our favorites. Some traditions just can't be ignored!  J helped sporting his new apron (thanks Jan!).

The kids were apparently on Santa's 'nice' list this year and to everyone's relief he and his reindeer found the new house.  C reports to have heard Santa doing his magic downstairs.

C was up first and tore through her stocking, waiting patiently for K to go through his.  She was super excited to see Churchill (the dog from school that she brings home for visits) at the top of her stocking.

K received a few Playmobile sets which J & I had fun putting together and C & K had fun using.  The pirate set came with a shooting cannon ball which was a big hit.

C spent most of Christmas playing with her Shrinky Dink set, making princess key rings and necklaces.

In addition to crafting, C is really getting into legos and worked tirelessly for a couple of hours on this Big Ben replica. Very impressive!

Most of our holiday days were spent lounging around, enjoying the new house and the time together. And playing countless games of UNO.
