Disneyland Paris - Day Three: K's Birthday

For K's Birthday we started the day at Cafe Mickey's having breakfast with some of the characters.  It was a bit chaotic but I'm glad we did it since we didn't run into any characters just walking around the park.  I don't know if that's because of the weather or if it's just not something they do anymore.
Unfortunately it was a rainy day but we didn't let that stop us.  We bundled up in our rain gear and headed to the park straight from breakfast.  First stop was City Hall so that K could get his birthday badge.  He also got a phone call from a very special mouse wishing him Happy Birthday.
The rest of the family received paper badges that lasted all of five minutes in the rain & wind.
Since it was his birthday K got to pick the first ride.  To no one's surprise he chose Buzz Lightyear.
After Buzz we beelined it for the Peter Pan ride.  The lines were crazy long every time we went so we decided to hit it in the morning.  The kids enjoyed the pirate boat ride around London and we used the fast pass to go two times.  I'm glad we did since the ride itself is only about a minute!  The wait to ride time ratio is definitely out of whack.

Since it was nearby, and the wait was mostly indoors and out of the rain, Pirates of the Caribbean was next. Like Buzz Lightyear, the Pirates of the Caribbean ride quickly became a family favorite.  At some point I lost track how many times we went on it.  This was a particularly special ride since we got to sit up front in the boat.  Oh the thrill of possibly getting wet!  And I'm sure for the kids it was much nicer to be able to see everything.
We ate lunch at the Blue Lagoon restaurant which overlooks the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.  There were a couple of pirates playing music in the waiting area which had both kids shaking their booty.  While the service was slow, the food was surprisingly good.

Since it was our last night, we promised the kids we'd stay until the park closed to see the fireworks. But given that 10pm is way past K & C's bedtime we went back to the room for naps in the afternoon.  Dinner was at Walt's restaurant on Main Street which ended with a special cake for the Birthday Boy.
After dinner we went on the Buzz Lightyear ride, again.
French Buzz:

J & I were super competitive and while he was the best shooter overall, I managed to get the highest score of the trip 259,800.  It doesn't hurt having the ride stop in front of high-scoring target.  We considered a run over to Pirates but it started raining pretty hard so we just went on the Buzz ride a few more times before the park closed.

I'm glad we stayed to watch the lights & fireworks display.  There were lots of oohs and aaahs from K and it was a memorable finish to his 4th birthday.

K commentary:  "Whoah, I not believe it"
K commentary:  "Look there's the fireworks"
 K commentary:  "She's saying let it go...look!"
