Disneyland Paris: Disney Studios & Au Revoir

After breakfast at the hotel we dropped off our bags at the Concierge desk and headed out for our last visit to the park.  The hotel would bring our bags to the train station for us so that we could spend maximum time at the park and not have to return to grab our bags. What a great service!  We didn't know it at the time but the hotel offers a similar service on arrival where you receive your park tickets on the train and Disney brings your bags from the station to the hotel for you. We are definitely doing that next time.

Last day photos at the park which definitely required some K bribing.  He was pretty much against having his photo taken the entire time so I have a lot of photos of his back and his pout.
The one ride that the kids wanted to go on but we had yet to make was Dumbo.  So that was our first stop as soon as the park opened.  Like Peter Pan, Dumbo always had crazy long lines for a short ride and one that isn't very interesting (at least not to me although if we still had babies I imagine this would be the ride for us).  But there are some nice views of the park from the flying elephant.

Since we hadn't visited Walt Disney Studios yet, today was the day, but first a final ride on Pirates of the Caribbean.  Once again we lucked out with front row seats on the boat, a perfect ending to our Park experience.  K made us all put our hands up for the picture.

It was a cold, rainy day and Disney Studios was absolutely packed so we didn't venture far.  K wanted to go on Crush's Coaster so after just barely clearing the height restriction he and I got in line to wait.  The wait was over an hour long but he was a trooper.  And he was stopped at every height bar for another check.  He was definitely the smallest rider in line by a long shot.  C wanted nothing to do with another roller coaster and J's back was still hurting so they went off to ride magic carpets over Agrabah and drive in a Cars rally.

After the rides we met up to watch the Cars & Stars parade

Then we ate a late lunch at Ludwigs Castle in Disney Village.  The decor was similar to the Hofbrau Haus in Munich and it was definitely one of the best meals of our stay.  J & I split a large plate of various sausages & meat, laid on top a mountain of sauerkraut, accompanied by a pint & pretzels.  It brought back fond memories of our Oktoberfest trip last year.

We had time for one more activity before heading to the train so we went back to Disney Studios to watch a Stunt Show featuring Lightning McQueen.  It was actually pretty interesting to see how some car stunts were pulled off.  For instance, there are special cars for driving backwards - where the driver is actually driving forward but the car design makes it look like the car is driving backwards.

At the train station we picked up our bags and headed to the platform to board the train.  The train was nearly full and since we bought the tickets so late, we did not have seats together.  While we were all in the same car, the seats were scattered throughout.  But given how young the kids were, the Eurostar team helped move us (in fact, they upgraded us to First Class), so that at least three of us could sit together.  Not long into the ride, both kids fell fast asleep cuddling Mickey & Pluto.

And that's a wrap!

Overall, a really enjoyable trip to the Magic Kingdom.  It brought back many fond memories for J & I of our family trips when we were kids.  And even better, we made lots of new memories with K & C.  I'm not sure when we'll be back but C has already put in a request for her own birthday trip to Disneyland so it may be sooner than we think.
