K's First Haircut

Those cute little curls are history.J was pretty insistent that we get K's hair cut. Not only was it dangling in his eyes but his side curls kept tickling his ears. For the longest time we were convinced he had an ear infection but then we realized that his hand was on his ear because he was playing with his hair.

We went to the same salon that C goes to. I was a bit nervous about how it would all go down since K isn't one to stay in place for long and he's not old enough to listen to directions. When we took C she was already 2 yrs. old so this was going to be an entirely different experience. The stylist shared my concerns, so she recommended that I sit in the chair and hold K on top of me. As soon as I did, he erupted into tears. He seems to be going through a separation anxiety phase and gets very upset in new environments. Luckily I remembered to throw a bottle in my bag before we left and that helped settle him down.

I was so impressed by the stylist. Not only did she have the nerves required to cut the hair of a baby who's head was tilted back drinking a bottle and who could jerk his head at any moment, but she was able to contort her body at multiple angles so that she could make all the cuts without us having to move K much.

Doesn't it make him look about 6 months older?
