We were lucky enough to have a visit from my best friend Jan and her family this weekend. She and her oldest daughter Kate came out last year about this same time. But this year, the whole family decided to make the trip and spend their spring break touring California. We were the first stop on their vacation - the last stop is Disneyland. So while there was no way we were going to be able to compete with Princesses (Maddy's favorite) and Ferris Wheels (Kate's favorite), we still managed to have a whole lot of fun.
Friday it rained most of the day, so we spent a good portion of it inside. However, we did get out for a few hours to play at Shoup Park. We got rained on but no one seemed to mind.
That night, we had a big dinner and an early 40th Birthday celebration for Jan.
Saturday we spent the afternoon touring San Francisco and topped the day off with an adult night out (thanks Pam!). It was nice to spend time with friends, sharing a few pitchers of sangria and chatting up a storm. And the girls enjoyed watching movies while we were out.
Before leaving Sunday morning, the sun was finally shining so I took the kids out back for some photos. I'm sure we can all agree that Maddy was born to be in pictures. Watch out world!
