Class Photo & Teacher Report

C had a great time at school this year and loved her teacher, Miss Bhavna. The report from Miss Bhavna was that C really blossomed this year. In the beginning, she was a bit tentative with the other kids and joining in group activities (not surprising, especially given the fact that she had moved to a new country). But by the end of the year she was very confident and had developed lots of friendships. While she loved hanging out with her teacher (apparently they used to have lots of "good chats") she was also encouraged to go off and play by herself which she had no problem doing. She knows all of her letters by sight and phonetically so she is well on her way to reading. Her favorite activities were arts & craft projects and spending time in the reading corner. She knows how to write her name but likes to "be lazy" and have her teacher draw dots for her to follow. From what I've seen, she can draw each of the letters, but definitely not in a straight line. When I ask her to write her name on a piece of paper I often find letters in all corners.

I'm so happy that C had such a positive experience in her first school in London. Next year she's off to reception (the UK equivalent of kindergarten) at a new school. I hope she enjoys it just as much!
