The show was in the middle of a big green and everyone brought blankets and picnic dinners.
About 30 seconds into the show, the witch came out and start singing about "eating the children" and "killing the mother first". At which point J turned to me with his what-were-you-thinking face and said "you're getting up with them tonight." Luckily I had prepped C early enough that there might be some scary parts and K really wasn't following much. In fact, J left at intermission to take him home.
C and I stayed to the end and afterwards she wanted to say "hi" to the witch. For some reason the witch was the most popular character with all the kids. It was a fun family night out and luckily the rain held (which is starting to feel like a miracle around here).
