Maui Day 2

Aside from the 4am wake up call from the kiddies, we seemed to get into a bit of a routine today. We started the morning with a trip just north to Kihei for breakfast at the Kihei Caffe a recommendation from a friend both for the early opening and the yummy sweets.

An added bonus was a huge park across the street on the ocean. It all became to clear to us why the coffee shop sold "Red Dirt" shirts. The kids were a mess after the park, covered in red dirt.

After we played a bit we did some errands then drove back to the hotel for a swim in the pool. We lucked out and were able to get both kids down for 2-hr. naps in the afternoon, mommy too. And then we went out to the beach to play in the sand for a bit. Sitting on the beach, I caught a glimpse of a whale’s tail and blowhole which was pretty neat and something I’ve never seen before.

The hotel has a wonderful littel gourmet deli with pizza/pasta options which we took advantage of for dinner.

Just as we were getting the kids into bed we heard loud booming noises outside. We went to the window and were treated to a fireworks show over the water with front row seats from our room.
