Maui Day 3

Today we hung around the resort for almost the entire day. Here is C at breakfast with her collection of drinks.

After breakfast, we headed out to the pool for a few hours. Both C & K love the water. Unfortunately mommy & daddy have to be on high-alert the entire time. Not only do the kids love the water, but they don’t fear it one bit.

When we were finished swimming, we decided to go on a short walk/hike north along the coast. K rode on J's back and I pushed C in the stroller. Both kids fell asleep which on one hand made for a peaceful walk but on the other hand screwed up the schedule for the day.

After the hike no one was interested in a nap so we went down to the beach for the afternoon. Both C & K were having fun in the sand until K decided eating the sand was something he wanted to do...repeatedly.

J ended up taking K back to the room and C and I stayed out for the rest of the afternoon. Even though we didn't wear bathing suits, we had fun standing in the water. It never occurred to me what a good balancing exercise it was to stand in the water while the tide went in and out trying not to fall over. C was very tentative at first and even got knocked down (so much for not wearing suits) but she definitely built up her skills and confidence.

The walk back from the beach is a bit of a hill. C was pooped without a good nap and having been in the sun all day. J had taken the stroller with K so we really didn't have any options...C had to walk by herself. Suffice it to say that this definitely goes down in history as the longest walk ever.

For dinner we went to Mulligans, an irish pub on a golf course across the street from the resort. Both J & I had the fish of the day which was fantastic (yes, we were dubious too. Fish at an irish pub?!?) C had a hamburger off the children’s menu which was cooked to within an inch of it’s life. We briefly thought about sending it back but for some reason it felt weird sending a kids plate back. And C didn’t seem to mind and was eating it anyway.

When we got back to the hotel we hit the cafe for a little ice cream treat. Yum!
